Study

Lean Study Group

As a member of the Tennessee Lean Enterprise Center, you will have the opportunity to join a group of companies that want to be leaders in the field by setting the direction of future research in the area of Lean Enterprise. Research will be conducted by faculty and graduate students from the University of Tennessee as well as other key researchers at the national or international level. They will study lean concepts and their impact on business processes. Topics for research are chosen by the Tennessee Lean Enterprise Center Executive Advisory Group from requests by members of the Lean Enterprise Center and current trends in industry. Some of the current research topics include E-Commerce and Lean, and ERP systems integration with lean concepts.

Lean Study Projects

Members of the Tennessee Lean Enterprise Center may also fund a Lean Study Project that may be applicable to only a couple business sites. The Lean Study Project may consist of the development or expansion of any lean topic. Similar to the Lean Study Group, faculty and/or graduate students will conduct the research deemed necessary. Lean Study Projects are considered different from the Lean Study Group because the information usually only benefits one or two companies.
