Dr. Joseph T. Crane, MD, MBA
Dr. Crane completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Linguistics while completing his premedical requirements.
He completed his medical training at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia and went on to the University of Illinois at Chicago where he finished his residency training in Emergency Medicine.
He returned to Virginia where he currently serves as the Associate Director of his group, Fredericksburg Emergency Medical Alliance. In 2004, he graduated from the Physician Executive MBA Program (PEMBA) at the University of Tennessee where he currently teaches classes in healthcare operations.
Since graduation, he has served as Business Director of his group of 18 physicians and 10 physician assistants.
His consulting company, “Innovative Healthcare Consulting,” focuses on innovative approaches to ED and hospital-wide operational and patient flow improvement.
He currently serves as a faculty member in the IHI’s National ED Collaborative.
